I stayed here 3 nights but would not recommend it. Two staff members were having loud sex in the dorm all night and the manager was drunk every day and night because the owner rusty went on holiday!!. He and a staff member got together and started running around naked!! It was so inappropriate and weird as everybody was sober and did NOT want to see that. Other staff members were very nice, but their 'orientation' talk makes you feel like you are in a schoolexcursion. The dorms are very cool and clean, that was the only reason i stayed.
I am the owner back from holiday. Thank you for the free publicity. So while i was away from my party hostel people were having fun, you mentioned drunkeness, nudity, casual sex, and clean dorms. I guess it is the backpackers you don't tell your mum about.
You could have mentioned the free WiFi and great food but otherwise great review. It is also interesting that after this party night you stayed another 4 days. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Yes the shower in my room was cold but livingston is so hot its good to cool down. Rusty the owner and Jurgen the manager are there for all your questions, and as long as you can take a joke then youll have a good time. I was there on a chill night and have also stayed on a party night.
I had an amazing experience at Casa de la Iguana! The hostel is surprisingly clean and the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival they give you the low down on the hostel and provide you with information on the area and what hot spots to see, which was really nice because I didn't know anything about Livingston before I got there.
They also do family style dinners really good portions and delicious food There's a hot shower, which was nice, and they have free wifi. A warning to those who aren't into partying: this hostel knows how to have a good time, and the parties can go pretty late and, from my experience, every night was crazy fun : The hostel fits right in with the overall vibe of Livingston a town that I personally loved.
