Arnold, who is from Norwood, said she met her first pimp while doing hair at a salon downtown. She quickly found herself deep in a life of crime and abuse. I got shot. Arnold, who is now an author, said she tried to prostitute but due to past abuse she could not perform sexual acts. Arnold said human trafficking is not always sexual exploitation; in her case, she was forced into robbery. She made her way back to Alabama where she raised five of her six children. The road to overcoming a life of trauma has not been easy for Arnold, who said she turned her life around while in prison in Texas.
