Recycled bottles - WOW
Recycled bottles as zipped containers, pencil cases, gift boxes and much more. All of these are entirely made by hand by a group of women in the Cape Town area, enabling them to earn a living, and stand independently. Each one is different, and has a wide variety of uses.
“The kliketyklikbox™ is a versatile and trendy, yet practical and upmarket, eco-friendly gift box recycled from plastic 2-litre cool drink bottles. Women who have been unemployed for longer than 2 years are taught the skills needed to create these boxes, while at the same time learning business management, life and sales skills.”
Each one includes the label as shown here, saying what it was, and by whom it was made.
These are truly a fantastic product, and a tremendous example of recycling. Empty plastic bottles are collected, and transformed into these glorious boxes and containers, by women – often facing hardship and poverty – in an area of the Cape. They work together harmoniously, although they are all from different tribes, to create these boxes. Sitting inside a large, double garage, it is amazing to see what can be produced, when you set your mind to something. They are lovely on their own, or make super gift presentation boxes, for special presents, such as a lovely necklace of soft toy. See what else is available at Bazaar Africa that would sit inside one of these boxes for a really special gift.

These fun zipped containers can be used for all sorts of things. All entirely handmade by women in an area outside Cape Town, of recycled small plastic bottles. Each one takes two bottles, as you can see, and then a strong zip sewn in between them.
